Mission and Values

Camp 5 is a subsidiary of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens Inc., (the Seven Wardens) and has been granted a charter by the Seven Wardens to administer the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer.  The mission of Camp 5 is to administer the ritual for candidates whose graduation at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Simon Fraser University (SFU), and the University of British Columbia Vancouver (UBC) is imminent and for other graduates in the Vancouver area.  Camp 5 does so in accordance with the directives of the Corporation, in a manner that preserves the dignity of the Ritual and brings out its full significance for all qualified young engineers. This includes the preservation of the Ancient Landmarks and adoption of the “Rule of Governance” in accordance with the Seven Wardens’ delegation of authority to the camp.

In undertaking its responsibilities, Camp 5’s values reflect the professionalism exhibited by engineers, and include fairness, courtesy, good faith, honesty and integrity, as well as respect for the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
